Herstory in OpenScience begings

IN_VISIBLE stands for Inclusion and Visibility.

When we are denied expressing our identity and participating in
education we become invisible.
IN_VISIBLE is an interactive, bottom up, visualization tool and open mapping prototype that monitors the changing landscape of access,
inclusion, and exclusion from public spaces, services and private
institutions for transgender communities.
In my academic biography I suffered a lot because it was not legal to be me.
I did not know other people like me who were not outcasted. Everything I knew
about being a trans woman of color was hair dresser, fashion icon and adult entertainment. Alienation and drinking the poison of Trans misogyny and racism. Drinking “Homeopatic” drops of conform to “heal” the mental problem to be transgender. I couldnt afford to loose my scholarship and academic positions during my education years because that would lead to more precarious conditions.
In June 2017, I read with great joy the news.  “Pontifica Universidad Catolica del Peru Approves Reform That Recognizes Transgender Gender Identity”. Then I knew this is what I had to do: make available information and spread protections.
IN_VISIBLE  first public pitch was at OpenCon17 (Right for Research Coalition).
The first collective work took off at the Do-a-Thon with emphatic international
participants, at the Harnack House of the Max Planck Society.
Back in March 2017, I met Ryan Hammond (Bio Artist) at the
second gathering for Open Hardware in Santiago de Chile. We
were inspired by the work of Mboa Nkoudou Thomas with cognitive justice.
How could I use the values written in the Manifesto to find space and safety.
I proposed to Ryan to work together in the project.
After several art works and conversations with Ryan Hammond, we had a first design.
Together with Paz Bernaldo and Gustavo Pereira from Vuela.cc, Pineapple Laboratories
presented the topic of Diversity: Is Open Science Open Enough? A panel session organized by Thomas Mboa and Luc Henry at the UNESCO Chair in Technologies for Development. There I was introduced to Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development Goals.
